Gurugram (Haryana) [India], September 20: The Corporate World Cup (CWC), recognized as the first-ever global corporate cricket tournament, was officially launched during an event in Gurugram on Sunday.

This initiative aims to unite the corporate cricket community through a well-structured competition that will span 24 cities, culminating in the first Corporate World Cup scheduled for July 2027, as detailed in a press release from CWC.

Organized by Pro Corporate League (PCL), a leading platform in corporate cricket with a 15-year history, this tournament seeks to elevate corporate cricket to an international level.

At the launch, legendary Sri Lankan cricketer and CWC Global Ambassador Sanath Jayasuriya joined CWC Founder Sachin Gupta, along with Agam Prabhat and Jaideep Pratap.

The event highlighted the vision of establishing a competitive framework for professionals and organizations across various cities, leading to the World Cup in July 2027.

The tournament will feature 192 corporate teams from 24 cities, with each city represented by eight teams. The top two teams from each city will advance to the grand Corporate World Cup in July 2027.

Sanath Jayasuriya expressed at the launch, “Cricket has always had the ability to unite individuals, regardless of their backgrounds. The Corporate World Cup is a distinctive concept that brings this spirit into workplaces and businesses across cities and nations. I am thrilled to be part of a platform that honors teamwork, leadership, and passion through cricket.”

To challenge teams with various styles of play, the competition will include formats such as 11-overs-a-side, T20, and 40-over matches, allowing corporate cricketers to demonstrate their adaptability and comprehensive cricketing skills.

Sachin Gupta, the Founder of the Corporate World Cup, stated, “This tournament is not just about competition; it’s a chance to unite the corporate cricket community on an unprecedented scale. Our 15-year journey with PCL has equipped us with a deep understanding of corporate cricket, and this initiative builds on that foundation to create a pathway from local competitions to a global championship. With 192 teams, 24 cities, and 864 matches, we are crafting an experience where professionals can compete, connect, and represent their cities with pride. Our journey starts today, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming teams to the inaugural World Cup in July 2027.”

With PCL’s extensive experience at its core, the Corporate World Cup aims to create a structured pathway from local corporate competitions to an international championship.

This initiative aspires to foster a long-term ecosystem around corporate cricket while celebrating teamwork, leadership, networking, and sporting excellence.
