In her remarks to the media, Poonam stated, “This initiative is fantastic because cycling is both affordable and environmentally friendly, making it one of the best ways to stay healthy. People of all ages can easily adopt cycling. The Fit India Movement will truly thrive when everyone takes responsibility for their fitness.”
Squash player Yusha Nafees also joined the event and praised the diverse participation from various states. She noted the government's commitment to promoting fitness nationwide and encouraged more people to engage in such activities.
“It’s wonderful to see participants from different states… I’ve been cycling a lot myself, and it’s great to be part of this initiative. The government is making significant efforts to enhance fitness across the country. I urge everyone to step up, participate, and contribute in any way they can,” Yusha expressed.
Wrestler Shivanee Pawar, attending her fifth 'Sunday on Cycle' event, highlighted the necessity of integrating fitness into everyday life. She pointed out that such initiatives are especially beneficial for those who work from home or spend extended periods indoors.
Pawar also motivated the youth to limit their social media usage and concentrate more on physical fitness and healthy pursuits. “This is my fifth Sunday on Cycle event, and I believe initiatives like this are crucial for incorporating fitness into our daily routines, particularly for those who work from home or are often indoors… It’s a fantastic initiative to inspire our nation, especially the youth, to shift away from excessive social media and focus on fitness,” she remarked.
