Highlights from the BCCI's Annual General Meeting

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) convened its 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its Mumbai headquarters on September 18, where significant decisions were made regarding the governance and advancement of cricket in India.

Notable attendees included BCCI president Mithun Manhas, vice-president Rajeev Shukla, board secretary Devajit Saikia, former president Sourav Ganguly, along with Saurabh Tiwari and Abhishek Dalmiya.

During the session, Arun Singh Dhumal and M Khairul Jamal Majumdar were elected to join the IPL Governing Council.

The General Body ratified the audited financial statements for the fiscal year 2025-26 and sanctioned the budget for 2026-27, along with appointing auditors for the upcoming financial year.

Plans were also set in motion to celebrate the IPL's 20th anniversary in 2027 with grandeur. Additionally, the BCCI is gearing up for its centenary celebrations in 2028, which will span a year starting from December 2027, commemorating a century of the BCCI and its role in Indian cricket.

Furthermore, the General Body unanimously endorsed an improved payment structure for umpires and match referees, along with a reclassification of their grades.

A new Internal Committee was established under the BCCI's Prevention of Sexual Harassment Policy, and updates to the Age Verification Policy were also approved.

Discussions were held with State Units regarding initiatives to assist differently-abled cricketers, focusing on enhancing facilities and resources to foster their growth in the sport.
