BCCI Acknowledges Coaches' Impact on Team India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed its heartfelt appreciation for the contributions of assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fielding coach T Dilip, highlighting their commitment and professionalism that significantly aided Team India's achievements.

As their successful tenures with the Indian cricket team come to an end, the BCCI conveyed its best wishes for their future endeavors.

T Dilip has been with the Indian men's team as the fielding coach since 2021, concluding his role after the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He returned for a second stint during the 2025 Test tour of the UK on a one-year contract but was not retained afterward.

On the other hand, Ryan ten Doeschate, who served as the assistant coach, stepped down following the white-ball series in England in July. He has since taken on the role of Head of Cricket Strategy with the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The former captain of the Netherlands, Doeschate, joined the Indian coaching staff when Gautam Gambhir became head coach after Rahul Dravid's departure post the 2024 T20 World Cup victory.

During his time with the team, Doeschate contributed to India's triumphs in the 2025 Asia Cup and the successful defense of the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup title. However, the Test team faced challenges, including a loss in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia and a home series whitewash against New Zealand (0-3) and South Africa (0-2).

Under Dilip's guidance, India's fielding standards improved significantly. The introduction of a fielding medal ceremony, which recognized the 'Best Fielder of the Match' after each game, became quite popular during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, with notable winners including KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.
