Axar Patel Exits Match Due to Injury but Can Return for Delhi Capitals
Axar Patel's Injury Update During Crucial Match
During a tense match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Axar Patel made his way back to the dressing room while the game was still in balance. The DC captain had been instrumental in guiding his team towards a target of 173 runs. However, with 42 runs needed off 25 balls, he opted to 'retire hurt.' David Miller stepped in to replace Axar and partnered with Tristan Stubbs at the crease.
Axar was visibly struggling with cramps and had to leave the field after receiving multiple checks from the physiotherapist. He appeared to be in considerable discomfort and required assistance from RCB's Krunal Pandya and DC's Ashutosh Sharma, who was not part of the playing XI. Fortunately for the Capitals, Axar is eligible to return to bat if necessary, as he has not 'retired out.' Since he left due to injury and was classified as 'retired hurt' by the officials, he can come back to bat at any time after a wicket falls.
