Australia Dominates ICC Women's T20I Rankings Ahead of 2026 World Cup
Australia Maintains Top Spot in Women's T20I Rankings
Dubai [UAE], May 5: Following the annual update, Australia has solidified its position at the pinnacle of the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings, boasting a 12-point advantage over England as they prepare for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The latest rankings reflect a full weightage (100%) for matches played since May 2025, while results from the preceding two years are weighted at 50%, according to the ICC. Australia leads with 287 points, with England and India trailing in second and third place, respectively, at 275 and 264 points. The top 16 teams have remained unchanged.
New Zealand, the current ICC Women’s T20 World Cup champions, hold the fourth position with 253 points, while South Africa rounds out the top five with 243 points.
In sixth and seventh places are West Indies (238 points) and Sri Lanka (237 points), separated by just one point.
Pakistan stands in eighth with 216 points, followed closely by Ireland (200) and Bangladesh (199), again with only a single point difference between them.
In notable movements, the USA, winners of the inaugural ICC Women’s T20I Challenge Trophy, have ascended two spots from 22nd to 20th with 98 points. Germany has also improved, gaining 10 rating points to rise from 56 to 66, entering the top 30 at 29th position.
The latest annual rankings feature a total of 78 teams, all of which have played at least eight T20Is over the last three years. Cambodia has fallen out of the rankings and must play four more matches to regain their status, while Peru is no longer ranked due to not participating in any matches for three years.
