Chattogram [Bangladesh], June 19: In a thrilling display of all-round talent, Matt Renshaw propelled Australia to a T20I series victory, leading the team to a narrow seven-run win over Bangladesh in the second match of the three-game series on Friday.
This triumph gives Australia a commanding 2-0 lead in the series, with Renshaw contributing significantly with both bat and ball, scoring an impressive 89 not out and taking 1 wicket for just 13 runs.
After winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first. The team faced early challenges, finding themselves at 44 for 3 within six overs, with captain Mitchell Marsh being the top scorer among the top order, managing 20 runs off 19 balls, including three boundaries. However, a remarkable partnership of 97 runs between Renshaw and Tim David, who scored 45 runs off 26 balls with two fours and four sixes, revitalized Australia's innings.
Renshaw's explosive innings of 89 came off just 52 deliveries, featuring four fours and five sixes, helping Australia post a total of 196 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs.
For Bangladesh, Nasum Ahmed was the standout bowler, taking 2 wickets for 27 runs, while Abdul Gaffar Saqlain, Nahid Rana, and Mustafizur Rahman also contributed with a wicket each.
