Aston Villa Triumphs Over Manchester City

Birmingham [UK], October 24: Aston Villa ended Manchester City's impressive seven-match unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory at Villa Park on Saturday, thanks to a brace from Nicolas Jackson.

Despite a goal from Erling Haaland, who plays for Manchester City, the match marked Enzo Maresca's first loss as the team's manager, while Villa celebrated their first home win of the Premier League season.

Jackson opened the scoring in the seventh minute, capitalizing on a loose ball from Marc Guehi and sending it into the net, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Although City had a few quality chances in the first half, Villa dominated in tackles. Rayan Cherki was thwarted by goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, and Iliman Ndiaye's shot struck the woodwork, as reported by Sky Sports.

Haaland equalized in the 52nd minute with a header from Ndiaye's cross, but City couldn't take the lead as Suzuki denied Gvardiol's attempt.

In the 60th minute, Jackson scored again, putting Villa back in front. Haaland's late effort in the 89th minute was cleared, sealing the win for Villa.

With this result, City remains at the top of the table with seven wins and one loss, totaling 21 points, while Villa sits in sixth place with three wins, two draws, and three losses, accumulating 11 points.

Meanwhile, Arsenal, the reigning champions, matched City's points with a 2-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

Ezri Konsa scored his first goal for the club just seven minutes into the match, and Gabriel Magalhaes celebrated his 200th league appearance with a goal in the 68th minute, leveling Arsenal with City at 21 points after seven wins and one loss.

Viktor Gyokeres, making his first league start of the season, assisted Konsa but was unable to score himself. Everton had a chance to equalize, but Thierno Barry failed to capitalize on a weak back pass from Ben White to goalkeeper David Raya.
