Exciting Cricket Action Awaits in Zambia

The eagerly anticipated second season of the Asian Legends League (ALL) is set to captivate cricket enthusiasts worldwide, taking place in Lusaka, Zambia, from July 30 to August 10, 2026.

Building on the success of its inaugural season, the league is back with an expanded format featuring six competitive teams, legendary former international cricketers, and an exhilarating T20 format that promises to deliver unforgettable moments on the field, as stated in a recent press release.

This tournament will showcase six franchises representing some of the most prominent cricketing nations in Asia. The teams include the Indian Royals, Sri Lankan Lions, Bangladesh Tigers, Afghanistan Pathans, Pakistan Panthers, and the Rest of Asian Stars.

Chetan Sharma, the League Commissioner for the Asian Legends League, remarked, “The second season signifies a major milestone in our journey. The Asian Legends League has always aimed to celebrate Asian cricket, and our long-term vision is to host the tournament across various Asian countries.”

“However, due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in parts of the Middle East and the associated logistical challenges, we have opted to hold Season 2 in Zambia. This marks the first occasion the tournament is being conducted outside Asia. Moving forward, we plan to return the league to Asia, where it rightfully belongs. Season 2 is set to be larger, more competitive, and more entertaining than ever,” he added.

The teams will be captained by some of the most celebrated figures in Asian cricket. Yusuf Pathan will lead the Indian Royals, while Thisara Perera will represent the Sri Lankan Lions.

Shakib Al Hasan will play for the Bangladesh Tigers, Asghar Afghan will captain the Afghanistan Pathans, Mohammad Hafeez will be part of the Pakistan Panthers, and Tillakaratne Dilshan will lead the Rest of Asian Stars.

Enhancing the tournament's appeal will be a host of renowned former international cricketers, including Ambati Rayudu, Naman Ojha, Rishi Dhawan, Upul Tharanga, Isuru Udana, Danushka Gunathilaka, Dilshan Munaweera, Asela Gunaratne, Imran Nazir, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Akmal, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Irfan, Alok Kapali, and Malinda Siriwardana, with additional star names expected to be revealed soon.

The league will maintain its distinctive country-based franchise model, uniting legendary players from across Asia while honoring the rich cricketing heritage, intense rivalries, and camaraderie that have characterized the sport in the region. Often referred to by fans as the “Retired Players’ Asia Cup,” this tournament has quickly become one of the leading legends cricket competitions globally.
