Arshdeep Singh Celebrates India's T20 World Cup Triumph with Fun Instagram Moments
Celebrating a Historic Win
In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on March 9, India made history by becoming the first team to successfully defend their T20 World Cup title. Following this remarkable achievement, fast bowler Arshdeep Singh took to Instagram to share some light-hearted moments.
In a playful exchange with head coach Gautam Gambhir, Arshdeep managed to elicit a rare smile from him, showcasing their camaraderie in a fun reel.
Arshdeep humorously urged Gambhir, "Paaji kabhi has bhi liya karo (Brother, please laugh sometimes)," adding a personal touch to their interaction.
He also featured India's T20 World Cup star, Sanju Samson, in another entertaining clip, stating, "Paaji, justice milgaya," highlighting the excitement surrounding Samson's performance.
This playful interaction was a nod to the excitement surrounding Sanju Samson finally receiving recognition in the Indian squad.
Samson's impressive performance included 321 runs across five innings in the T20 World Cup, boasting an average of 80.25 and a remarkable strike rate of 199.37, with 27 fours and 24 sixes. He finished as the tournament's third-highest run-scorer.
Notably, he surpassed Virat Kohli's previous record of 319 runs from the 2014 T20 World Cup, making him the Indian player with the most runs in a single T20 World Cup edition.
Samson's outstanding form allowed him to join an elite group of players, including Virat Kohli and Shahid Afridi, who have scored fifties in both the semifinal and final of a T20 World Cup.
His performance also eclipsed Marlon Samuels' 85* against England in the 2016 T20 World Cup final and Kane Williamson's 85 against Australia in the 2021 final, marking him as the Indian with the highest score in a T20 World Cup knockout match.
