Arjun Tendulkar Opens Up About Comparisons with His Father

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and a former player for the Mumbai Indians, has shared his thoughts on the constant comparisons with his father, often referred to as the 'God of Cricket'. He is set to potentially play for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their IPL 2026 match on Wednesday. The Mumbai Indians transferred the 26-year-old to LSG for a fee of Rs 30 lakh.

In a recent interview, Arjun was questioned about the pressure of being Sachin's son. He emphasized that his primary focus is on enjoying the game rather than succumbing to external expectations. 'There are comparisons, and I understand the curiosity. Having a prominent name associated with you is a blessing, but it also brings its own set of challenges. It's important to manage that mentally,' he explained during a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel.

Arjun further stated, 'I play cricket out of passion, not to prove anything to anyone. My focus is on hard work and enjoying the game.' He joined the Mumbai Indians in 2021 but had limited opportunities to showcase his talent before moving to Lucknow ahead of this season. Although he has yet to debut for his new team, he expressed hope for more playing time compared to his stint with MI.

Reflecting on his time with the Mumbai Indians, he acknowledged the frustration of limited chances. 'Everyone wants to play more. No one enjoys sitting on the bench. However, we must continue to work hard and seize our opportunities when they arise,' he concluded.
