Anantjeet Singh Naruka's Journey in Skeet Shooting

Anantjeet Singh Naruka, a member of the Indian men's skeet shooting team, expressed gratitude towards his parents, especially his father, a former shooter, for guiding him into the sport. His recent achievement of winning two bronze medals at the 2026 Asian Games has been a significant milestone for him.

Looking ahead, Naruka emphasized the team's commitment to the upcoming World Championship in November, which is crucial as it provides opportunities for Olympic quota spots. He acknowledged the Rajasthan government's role in supporting athletes and fostering motivation.

Naruka stated, "I owe my entry into this sport to my parents. My father, being a shooter, was instrumental in my journey. As we prepare for the Olympics, our focus shifts to the World Championship, which is vital for securing Olympic places. The support from the Rajasthan government is invaluable, and I hope it continues to inspire us to excel in competitions like the Asian Games and the Olympics."

Alongside teammates Bhavtegh and Mairaj, Naruka contributed to securing a bronze medal in the men's skeet team event, finishing with a total score of 346. Qatar took home the gold with 353 points, while Kuwait earned silver with 348 points.

In addition, Naruka clinched another bronze in the mixed team skeet event with partner Parinaaz Dhaliwal, finishing behind gold medalists China and silver medalists South Korea.

To date, India has amassed a total of 30 medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026, including four gold, 12 silver, and 14 bronze medals.
