Ancelotti's Impact on Brazil's Football Environment

New Jersey [US], June 12: Alisson Becker, the goalkeeper for Brazil and Liverpool, has expressed admiration for head coach Carlo Ancelotti, highlighting the significant changes he has brought to the team's atmosphere. Alisson noted that Ancelotti has made the environment more focused on hard work and has established a strong presence within the squad.

As Brazil prepares for their World Cup opener against Morocco on June 14 in New Jersey, Ancelotti acknowledged the challenges the team faced prior to his appointment in May of last year. The Italian manager is the first foreign coach to lead Brazil to World Cup qualification, stepping in during a time when the team's chances seemed uncertain.

In a statement to reporters, Alisson remarked, "The previous period was undeniably tough for us players. We experienced various difficulties. Since Ancelotti joined, the atmosphere has changed significantly. He brings a strong presence and creates a calm, work-focused environment, free from controversy."

Brazil is competing in Group C, which includes Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.

Alisson also praised Ancelotti's resilience and his thoughtful communication style. "He is resilient, humble, and knows how to choose his words wisely. He is an exceptional manager with a clear vision of football that aligns with our playing style. This synergy benefits the team. I can see his joy and appreciation for coaching the Selecao," Alisson added.

The goalkeeper acknowledged Ancelotti's extensive achievements in football, stating that he continues to approach the game with enthusiasm and joy. "His role may carry more pressure than that of a country's president," he noted.

Alisson took a moment to recognize his long-time goalkeeping coach and childhood hero, Claudio Taffarel. The 1994 World Cup champion has played a crucial role in Alisson's career at both the international and club levels.

"One of my most vivid memories is from when I was six years old, during the semi-final against the Netherlands in 1998. My father made a joke when Taffarel saved a penalty, smashing a cake in his own face. That moment has stuck with me. Working with Taffarel is a privilege; he is an idol and an inspiration for many Brazilians aspiring to be goalkeepers. In my childhood, we would chant, 'Taffareeel...'. He supports us in tough times and has left a legacy beyond his playing career. People may not fully recognize Taffarel's significance as a goalkeeping coach. I have maintained a high level for so long thanks to having a qualified coach like him," he concluded.
