The 33-year-old goalkeeper fulfilled his promise with a remarkable display at Los Angeles Stadium, making a total of seven saves, including four diving stops and three high claims, effectively preventing an estimated 1.70 goals. His outstanding performance earned him the title of 'Superior Player of the Match.'
Belgium started the match aggressively, controlling possession early on. Maxim De Cuyper tested Beiranvand with a powerful long-range shot, but the Iranian keeper was up to the task.
Iran posed a threat on counterattacks and nearly took the lead in the 24th minute when Mehdi Taremi scored from a well-executed free-kick. However, a VAR review disallowed the goal due to a narrow offside call.
Belgium continued to press in the first half, creating multiple chances, but Beiranvand's crucial saves kept Iran in the game.
The match took a turn in the 66th minute when Belgium's Nathan Ngoy received a straight red card for fouling Taremi, leaving Belgium to play more defensively for the remainder of the match.
With the numerical advantage, Iran sought a winning goal, introducing fresh attacking players and applying pressure on Belgium's defense. Despite several late attempts, they were unable to score.
This draw leaves Group G in a competitive state, with Iran at the top and Belgium in second place with two points. New Zealand and Egypt both have one point, keeping the qualification hopes alive for all four teams as they head into the final group-stage matches.
