Dammam (Saudi Arabia), May 4: In a thrilling encounter at the Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium, Al Qadsiah made headlines by defeating league leaders Al Nassr 3-1 during the Saudi Pro League 2025-26 match on Sunday.


This unexpected result not only disrupted Al Nassr's title ambitions but also halted their impressive 20-match winning streak in the league, intensifying the competition at the top as the season nears its climax, as reported by ESPN.


Al Qadsiah opened the scoring in the 24th minute, with Mohammed Abu Al Shamat taking advantage of early pressure and exploiting defensive lapses in the Al Nassr lineup. The visitors equalized just before halftime, with João Felix finding the net in the 39th minute, ensuring the teams went into the break tied at 1-1.


After the interval, Al Qadsiah regained their momentum. Musab Fahd Aljuwayr netted in the 55th minute, finishing off a well-executed play from midfield to put his team back in front.


Despite Al Nassr's attempts to level the score, they were caught off guard on the counterattack, and Julian Quinones sealed the victory with a precise strike in the 78th minute, bringing the score to 3-1. Al Qadsiah managed the final moments of the match effectively, preventing Al Nassr from finding a way back into the game.


This victory propelled Al Qadsiah into the top four of the standings, accumulating 68 points from 31 matches. Meanwhile, Al Nassr remains at the top with 79 points, followed closely by Al Hilal with 74 points and Al Ahli with 69 points. Al Taawoun rounds out the top five with 52 points, keeping the race for Asian qualification and the title fiercely competitive as the season approaches its conclusion.
