Ajinkya Rahane Bids Farewell to International Cricket

Ajinkya Rahane, the seasoned Indian cricketer, declared his retirement from international cricket on Thursday, stating that he believes it is the right moment for him to “move on.”

At 38 years old, Rahane has an impressive record, having participated in 85 Test matches, 90 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 20 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) since his debut in 2013.

His last appearance for the national team was during the Test series against the West Indies in 2023.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Rahane expressed, “Today, I feel the timing is right for me to move on and announce my retirement from international cricket and all formats.”

Although he has not been selected for the national team recently, Rahane has remained active in domestic cricket, leading the Mumbai team until the 2024-25 season.
