Ahmed Shehzad's Controversial Claims on BCCI and ICC Dope Testing
Shehzad's Allegations Against BCCI
Former Pakistani cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has made a significant allegation, asserting that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) prevents the International Cricket Council (ICC) from conducting doping tests on its players. The ICC is responsible for administering doping tests in cricket, adhering to the guidelines set by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). These tests include random and targeted urine and blood samples to identify banned substances, ensuring the sport's integrity. Players are held accountable for any prohibited substances found in their samples, regardless of when the testing occurs.
Shehzad claims that the BCCI prefers to conduct its own testing, expressing distrust in external technologies used by the ICC. However, his assertions lack supporting evidence. He stated, "The BCCI does not permit the ICC to perform dope tests on Indian players during ICC events. Whenever the ICC requests to conduct these tests, the BCCI declines, claiming they possess superior technology for testing their players themselves," during an appearance on the show Haarna Mana Hai.
Mohammad Amir's Predictions for the T20 World Cup
Mohammad Amir Backs England Over India
As India prepares to face England in the T20 World Cup semifinal at Wankhede Stadium, Mohammad Amir has stirred controversy by predicting an England victory. He pointed out the inconsistent performance of Indian batsmen, suggesting that England enters the match as the favorite. Amir remarked, "When discussing India, only one or two of their batsmen are performing consistently. While one or two may excel, the overall batting lineup is struggling. Ishan Kishan has only shown form against us, while Abhishek Sharma is currently out of form. Tilak Verma hasn't made a significant impact, and Suryakumar Yadav has been underwhelming since the Super 8s. On the other hand, Bumrah is performing well. It's uncertain if this team can dominate, and I believe England will be favored in this matchup," he stated.
