Dubai, Oct 28: In the latest ICC Men’s Player Rankings, Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma has reclaimed his position as the leading batsman in T20I cricket. Meanwhile, South Africa's Marco Jansen has made headlines by becoming the top-ranked Test bowler and all-rounder.

Jansen's remarkable performance in the second Test against Australia in Gqeberha, where he scored 85 runs and took five wickets in the first innings, has propelled him to the top of both categories for the first time in his career.

At just 26 years old, Jansen has ascended 13 places to rank 56th in Test batting, overtaking Mitchell Starc to claim the top spot in Test bowling, and has displaced Ravindra Jadeja as the leading Test all-rounder after Jadeja held that position for over four years. This rise follows praise from former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, who called him 'the best cricketer in the world.'

On the T20I front, Abhishek Sharma's explosive century against New Zealand in Wellington has secured his return to the top of the rankings. He scored 113 runs off just 38 balls, leading India to a six-wicket victory and clinching the series.

Abhishek had previously lost the No. 1 spot to teammate Ishan Kishan in July after Kishan's impressive performances in Ireland. Abhishek first reached the top of the T20I rankings in July 2025, surpassing Australia’s Travis Head.

In other notable updates, South Africa's Temba Bavuma has moved up to second place in the Test batting rankings after scoring 179 runs in the first innings against Australia, leveling the series 1-1. England's Harry Brook remains the only player ahead of him.

Australia's Scott Boland has climbed to sixth in the Test bowling rankings, while South Africa's Simon Harmer has made a significant leap to eighth in the Test all-rounder rankings, now led by Jansen.

In the T20I rankings, India's Sanju Samson has moved up to 20th, while New Zealand's Finn Allen is now 25th. New Zealand's Mitchell Santner has risen to seventh in T20I bowling, and India's Arshdeep Singh is now 15th.

Additionally, the ODI rankings have seen changes as the tri-series involving Pakistan, England, and Sri Lanka progresses. England's Ben Duckett and Brook have made gains in the ODI batting rankings, while Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi has climbed to sixth in ODI bowling. Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai has risen to seventh, and veteran Mohammad Nabi is now third in the ODI all-rounder rankings.
