Historic Achievement in T20 Cricket

On Thursday, Abhishek Sharma made headlines by scoring the quickest T20 International century by an Indian, reaching the milestone in just 30 balls during the final match against Afghanistan.

The left-handed opener showcased his explosive batting by hitting 10 sixes and nine fours, surpassing the previous record held by former captain Rohit Sharma, who achieved his fastest T20I century against Sri Lanka in December 2017.

This remarkable century is also the fastest recorded by any player against a Test-playing nation, with Abhishek completing his hundred with a single in the ninth over of the innings.

This innings marked Abhishek's third century in T20 cricket, complementing his impressive tally of 12 half-centuries.

Earlier in the match, Afghanistan's captain Ibrahim Zadran won the toss and opted to field first.

India made a single change to their lineup, introducing pacer Yash Thakur in place of Arshdeep Singh. The opening pair remained unchanged with Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, meaning Vaibhav Sooryavanshi did not feature in this series.
