He noted that their accomplishments have not only brought pride to the nation but have also served as a source of inspiration for him personally.

India wrapped up its impressive journey at the Asian Para Games 2026, securing a commendable fourth place overall. The country achieved its best-ever medal tally, amassing a total of 114 medals, which includes 30 gold, 35 silver, and 49 bronze.

During a press interaction at the KPMG Agrasar Bharat Manch 2026, Bindra extended his congratulations to the athletes for exceeding India's previous medal record at this prestigious event.

"What our para-athletes have accomplished is truly remarkable. They have consistently brought immense pride to India, and surpassing our previous best at the Asian Para Games is a significant milestone. Each athlete is a source of inspiration, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of them," Bindra remarked.

Reflecting on the overall performance of the Indian contingent, the Olympic gold medalist acknowledged that while there were outstanding moments, there were also disappointments, which are inherent in sports.

"Overall, I believe we performed well. As is typical in sports, there are highs and lows, with some successes and some setbacks. However, these experiences are vital for growth. It’s about learning and striving for improvement in future competitions," he stated.

Bindra emphasized the importance of self-reflection for athletes, encouraging them to analyze their performances, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and apply these insights as they prepare for the upcoming Games in Los Angeles.

"Now that the games have concluded, it’s crucial for athletes to reflect on their experiences—what went well and what could be improved. This reflection will be instrumental in their preparation for the upcoming LA Games," he added.
