Exciting Lineup for the Singapore Open

Collin Johns, a former World No. 1 in men's doubles, is set to headline a group of elite pickleball athletes at the upcoming Singapore Open, part of the PPA Tour Asia 500 series, taking place from July 23 to 26. Alongside Johns, notable Asian competitors such as Len Yang, Jack Wong from Hong Kong, and China's top player Long Yufei will also participate. This tournament boasts a substantial prize pool of up to US$79,000 (S$102,000), marking it as the most prestigious pickleball event ever held in Singapore.

Adrian Tan, the event director, expressed enthusiasm about the diverse lineup, stating, "The Singapore Open features an impressive array of top international and Asian players, including Collin Johns, Len Yang, Jack Wong, Long Yufei, and Hien Truong. Fans can anticipate a high level of competition across all categories, especially with several of the region's best players competing alongside renowned international talents. We are also thrilled to have Charles Yong and Ryan Ng representing Singapore with strong local support."

At 33, Johns is recognized as one of the premier doubles players in pickleball. Previously a professional tennis player, he has secured 35 men's doubles titles and, along with his brother Ben Johns, held the No. 1 men's doubles ranking for three consecutive seasons from 2022 to 2024. He will partner with Len Yang in men's doubles, a duo that recently won gold at the Kuala Lumpur Open in May. They are seeded second at the Singapore Open, just behind Hong Kong's Jack Wong and South Korea's Kim Eung-gwon, who were runners-up at the 2025 Hong Kong Open and have consistently performed well on the PPA Tour Asia.

Wong is also aiming for his third consecutive men's singles title after victories at the Beijing Open and Tokyo Open earlier this season. Hien Truong, the Kuala Lumpur Open champion, is the top seed in the men's singles draw, setting the stage for a potential thrilling rivalry if he faces off against Wong.

Long Yufei is anticipated to have a busy schedule, competing in all three professional events. She leads the women's singles draw and is seeded second in both women's doubles with American partner Kara Wheatley and mixed doubles alongside Australia's Lucas Pascoe. Singapore's Charles Yong earned a spot in the men's singles main draw after winning the PickleSlam, a PPA Asia 125 tournament, where he triumphed over Malaysia's Timothy Foo 15-13 in the final. Meanwhile, fellow Singaporean Ryan Ng will participate in the qualifying rounds and also compete in the men's doubles event.
