Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], August 1: The fifth day of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2025 saw impressive performances from Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, and Haryana, all securing victories at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai, as reported by Hockey India.
In the opening match, Chhattisgarh triumphed over Bengal with a score of 6-2 in Division 'B'. Adarsh Raj Singh was the standout player, netting four goals at 3', 8', 20', and 60'. Aman Verma (48') and Abhishek Yadav (58') also contributed to the scoreline, solidifying Chhattisgarh's dominance.
For Hockey Bengal, Abhishek Shaw (6') and Hiten Rajak (35') managed to score but were unable to turn the tide.
Next, Manipur Hockey showcased their skills by defeating Hockey Himachal 6-0 in Division 'B'. Getik Ningombam Singh scored twice (4', 55'), while Saikhom Nishi Singh added two more goals (56', 58') to the tally. Manimatum Maibam (37') and Sanjit Singh Konthoujam (41') also contributed with goals, further extending their lead.
In Division 'A', Uttar Pradesh Hockey delivered a stunning performance against Delhi, winning 10-1. Shahrukh Ali was the star of the match, scoring four goals (5', 29', 38', 43'). Romit Pal also made his mark with two goals (20', 25'). Other contributors included Dhanuk Karan (23'), Sunil Pal (26'), Mohmmad Danish (42'), and Mohd Aqib Raynee (60'). Delhi's consolation goal came from Captain Uday Randhawa (51').
Odisha faced Maharashtra in another Division 'A' match, where they emerged victorious with a score of 5-1. Arman Soreng scored a hat-trick (12', 43', 49'), while Sanjeet Raj Lakra (51') and Deepak Prakash Toppo (17') added to the score. Rehan Shafi Khan (34') scored the only goal for Hockey Maharashtra.
In a dominant display, Hockey Punjab defeated Hockey Karnataka 10-0. Mandeep Singh scored twice (5', 41'), and several players, including Gursimranpreet Singh (14'), Varinder Singh (17'), Arshpreet Singh (23'), Yuvraj Singh (30'), Akash Deep (36'), Jashanpreet Singh (47'), Anurag Singh (55'), and Vijay Kumar Pal (60'), each contributed a goal.
Finally, Hockey Haryana secured a 3-0 victory against the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, with Captain Ankur Ror leading the charge by scoring all three goals (28', 53', 55').
