In a thrilling match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) achieved a convincing eight-wicket victory against the Mumbai Indians (MI). They successfully chased down a target of 160 runs with 11 balls remaining, moving up to sixth place in the league standings.


Rohit Pawar Celebrates MCA Players

After the match, Rohit Pawar, an MLA from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), praised the contributions of players from the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) in CSK's success. He took to social media platform X to express his pride, stating, "In the #IPL2026 match, CSK triumphed over MI by 8 wickets. Notably, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ramakrishna Ghosh, and Mukesh Choudhary from MCA played pivotal roles in this victory. This marks the first time in IPL history that three MCA players represented the same team, a significant achievement!"

Pawar emphasized the importance of the support provided by the Maharashtra Cricket Association, which has enabled players to excel in the IPL. He remarked, "The opportunities, encouragement, and facilities offered through MPL and other tournaments have allowed various MCA players to shine in the IPL, which is truly gratifying!"


Match Highlights: CSK vs MI

During the match, MI batted first, scoring 159 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, with Naman Dhir contributing 57 runs and Ryan Rickelton adding a brisk 37. CSK's bowlers, particularly Anshul Kamboj with 3 wickets and Noor Ahmad with 2, effectively restricted MI's scoring, especially in the final overs. Debutant Ramakrishna Ghosh impressed with figures of 1/24 in three overs, taking the crucial wicket of Suryakumar Yadav, while Mukesh Choudhary did not take any wickets.


In response, CSK faced an early setback with the loss of Sanju Samson, but Ruturaj Gaikwad steadied the innings with an unbeaten 67, forming a solid partnership of 98 runs with Kartik Sharma, who scored 54 not out.
