They are also only three points away from the Punjab Kings (PBKS), who lead the table. Notably, RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have played 10 matches so far. CSK can potentially reach a total of 18 points, meaning they would need to win three out of their remaining four matches to secure a playoff spot. Historically, since the IPL expanded to a 10-team format in 2022 (and previously in 2011), 16 points have typically guaranteed a top-four finish.
