Injury Blow for CSK

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have encountered another significant injury setback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, as all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh has been sidelined for the rest of the season due to a fracture in his right foot. This unfortunate injury took place during the match against the Mumbai Indians on May 2, which also marked Ghosh's debut in the IPL. CSK announced on social media, "Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026. Get well soon, Rambo," along with a link to their post.

CSK's Ongoing Injury Challenges

Ghosh's injury adds to the growing list of challenges for the five-time champions, who have already faced multiple injuries this season. Key players such as speedster Khaleel Ahmed and prominent batter Ayush Mhatre have also been affected in recent weeks.

Before the season commenced, CSK's pace attack was already under strain, with star bowler Nathan Ellis out due to injury. His replacement, Spencer Johnson, was also unavailable for a significant period due to fitness concerns.

MS Dhoni's Absence Continues

The team has also been missing their iconic wicketkeeper/batter MS Dhoni, who has been dealing with a calf strain since the season began. Although Dhoni has been present with CSK since March and has participated in practice matches and net sessions, which have been widely shared on social media, he has yet to play in any official matches this season.
