Chennai Super Kings (CSK), a five-time champion of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has announced the appointment of veteran pacer Zaheer Khan as the new Head Coach for the upcoming IPL 2027 season. He takes over from Stephen Fleming, who held the position for an impressive 16 years and played a pivotal role in securing five IPL titles for the franchise.

Zaheer Khan's Coaching Background

Before joining CSK, Zaheer was associated with Lucknow Super Giants as a mentor until their separation in 2025. His previous experience includes a tenure with Mumbai Indians from 2018 to 2022, where he initially served as the Director of Cricket Operations and later became the Global Head of Development, overseeing the expansion of the franchise's T20 teams globally. This role at CSK marks his debut as a head coach.

Zaheer Khan was instrumental in India's triumph during the 2011 World Cup and boasts extensive experience across all formats of the game.
