Chacarra Takes the Lead

Defending champion Eugenio Chacarra from Spain shot a three-under 69, securing the clubhouse lead with a total score of eight-under 136 during the second round of the USD 2.55 million Indian Open 2026. South African players Casey Jarvis and MJ Daffue, who recently triumphed at the HotelPlanner Tour event in India, are currently in second and third place with scores of seven-under 137 and six-under 138, respectively.


Chouhan Shines as Top Indian Player

Om Prakash Chouhan, a former PGTI Order of Merit champion from Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, emerged as the best-placed Indian after a remarkable performance in his second round, finishing with a score of one-under 71. Chouhan, who previously won on the HotelPlanner Tour three years ago, climbed 18 spots to tie for 23rd with an even-par total of 144.


Eighteen-year-old Manoj S, making his debut at the Indian Open and only in his second professional season, also impressed by scoring 70 in round two, placing him tied for 41st at two-over 146. He made a significant leap of 46 spots on day two.


Weather Disrupts Play

Earlier in the day, play was halted for one hour and twenty minutes due to lightning. Consequently, 30 players were unable to finish round two before play was suspended at 6:37 PM local time due to diminishing light. Among the Indian players, 16-year-old Kartik Singh, Dhruv Sheoran, and Khalin Joshi were all tied for 68th place at five-over 149, just one stroke shy of the projected cut of four-over.
