Green's Half-Century Fuels KKR's Total

In the IPL 2026 match held on Friday in Ahmedabad, Cameron Green achieved his first half-century, scoring 79 runs off 55 deliveries, leading Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a total of 180 against Gujarat Titans (GT). This performance marks Green's second-highest score in the IPL, following his unbeaten 100 against Sunrisers Hyderabad while playing for Mumbai Indians in 2023.

KKR Faces Early Setbacks

The innings began with Tim Seifert and Ajinkya Rahane as the opening pair for KKR. However, Mohammed Siraj struck early, dismissing Rahane for a golden duck in the first over. Youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi came in next, hitting two boundaries before being dismissed by Kagiso Rabada for just 8 runs, bringing Cameron Green to the crease.

Seifert, making his IPL 2026 debut, contributed a quick 19 runs but was also dismissed by Rabada shortly after, leaving Rovman Powell to join Green.

Recovery Led by Green and Powell

After a shaky start, KKR managed only 37 runs for 3 wickets during the power-play. Powell began to find his rhythm in the 7th over, hitting a massive six off Prasidh Krishna, followed by another six and a four against Ashok Sharma, pushing KKR to 59-3 after 8 overs.

Green and Powell continued to accumulate runs, reaching 80 after 10 overs. However, Ashok Sharma dismissed Powell for 27, bringing Anukul Roy to the crease.

In the 12th over, Green attacked Rashid Khan, hitting him for a six and a four, and followed up with two sixes off Sharma, marking his maiden half-century of the season.

Titans Stage a Comeback

In the 15th over, KKR lost Roy for 9 runs, and Rinku Singh joined Green. Unfortunately, Rinku's struggles continued as he was dismissed for just 1 run by Rabada on the first ball of the 16th over. Ramandeep Singh then entered the game, hitting a six off his second ball and two fours in the next over before falling for 17.

In the 18th over, Siraj claimed his second wicket, sending Sunil Narine back for a duck, and Kartik Tyagi came in next. Tyagi made a quick impact, hitting a six off Siraj's last delivery.

Despite a strong start, KKR was restricted to 180 runs, with Cameron Green as the top scorer. Rabada excelled with the ball, taking three wickets, while Sharma and Siraj each secured two wickets. Krishna and Khan contributed with one wicket each.
