Cameron Green's Readiness for IPL 2026

Cameron Green expressed his readiness to bowl four overs and his confidence in batting at any position for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as they strive to regain momentum in IPL 2026. The team recently celebrated their fourth consecutive victory.

In a match held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, KKR triumphed over DC by eight wickets, thanks to Finn Allen's remarkable unbeaten century. Despite a rocky start to the season with six consecutive losses, KKR has climbed to seventh place in the points standings. Green contributed significantly with 33 runs and took the wicket of Nitish Rana in just one over. He had previously missed bowling in the first two matches due to a lower-back injury management plan, participating solely as a specialist batter.

Green's Confidence in Bowling and Team Dynamics

During the post-match press conference, Green discussed his bowling responsibilities and batting order, acknowledging the pressure associated with his auction price tag. He stated, "I'm 100% ready to bowl four overs. Given our team's composition, Anukul Roy has been outstanding, allowing me to bowl two or three overs, which has been a significant advantage."

He further elaborated on the team's strategy, mentioning, "Having a left-arm all-rounder like Anukul to bowl through the middle overs allows me to focus on the power play and possibly the death overs. Our team has six reliable bowlers, and Anukul and I support each other in fulfilling our four-over quota."

Finding the Right Batting Order

In his third IPL season and first with KKR, Green has accumulated 232 runs and taken four wickets thus far. He reflected on the team's batting order, saying, "We were working to find the optimal combination for our batting lineup. It took a few games to determine the best positions for everyone, but I believe we've reached a solid arrangement now."

Handling Auction Pressure

Acquired for Rs 25.20 crore in the auction, Green dismissed any notion of feeling pressured by his price tag, attributing his comfort to the support from the franchise and coaching staff. He remarked, "I've never felt pressure from my teammates or coaches. They don't emphasize it, which helps alleviate any stress. Having experienced this three times now, I'm quite accustomed to it."
