In a gripping encounter in the English Premier League at the Vitality Stadium, AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United ended their match in a 2-2 stalemate on Friday night, with both teams earning a point in front of Bournemouth's home crowd.


The first half concluded without any goals, but the deadlock was broken in the 61st minute when Manchester United's captain, Bruno Fernandes, successfully converted a penalty after Matheus Cunha was fouled inside the box.


Bournemouth responded just six minutes later, with Ryan Christie scoring a low shot to equalize at 1-1.


The visitors regained the lead in the 71st minute when James Hill inadvertently scored an own goal, redirecting a defensive header from a United set-piece into his own net.


The match took another turn when Harry Maguire received a straight red card in the 78th minute for a last-man foul on Evanilson, leading to a penalty for Bournemouth. Substitute Junior Kroupi stepped up and struck a powerful shot in the 81st minute, leveling the score at 2-2.

After the match, Fernandes expressed to Sky Sports, "In recent weeks, we’ve been positive with our results, which boosts the team's confidence to believe we can achieve results anywhere. We’ve been performing well under Michael [Carrick], and although we had to endure some challenges today, we managed to secure a point."


This season, Fernandes has created 101 chances in the league, including three in this match, achieving this milestone in just 28 appearances—the fewest by a Manchester United player to reach 100+ chances since the 2003/04 season, surpassing Ryan Giggs's record of 29 appearances in 2006/07.
