Veteran Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is poised to make history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) gear up to face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 11 of the 2026 season at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium this Sunday.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, the 36-year-old needs just one more wicket to become the second bowler ever in IPL history, and the first fast bowler, to achieve the remarkable feat of 200 wickets. Currently, Yuzvendra Chahal holds the record as the only bowler to surpass the 200-wicket milestone, with a total of 224 wickets from 176 matches.

Evolution from Swing Specialist to Death-Over Ace

Initially recognized for his swing bowling and effectiveness during the powerplay, Bhuvneshwar has undergone significant evolution throughout his career. While he remains a formidable force with the new ball, his development into a reliable death-over bowler has added depth to his skill set.
