This decision poses a major setback for RCB, which will now be unable to play any home games. The implications of this ruling are profound, affecting the team's future and fan engagement. Read on to discover more about this unfolding situation.

Chinnaswamy Stadium's Future in IPL Uncertain

During the 2026 IPL season, Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium will not host any matches. Reports indicate that an investigation into a recent stampede incident has led to a ban on large events at this venue, significantly impacting the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). As of now, there has been no official statement regarding this decision.

In connection with the stampede, the Karnataka government has granted permission to file a lawsuit against RCB. This decision follows the investigation commission's report, which found RCB and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) culpable for the incident. Legal action has also been approved against KSCA.

According to the investigation report, Chinnaswamy Stadium is deemed unsafe for major events, resulting in a prohibition on such gatherings. Consequently, the likelihood of IPL matches being held at this stadium next year appears slim. This news is a significant blow to RCB, as they will be unable to play any home matches.

Furthermore, the report by Justice D. K. Kunha was presented to the Karnataka Cabinet last week and was approved on Thursday, July 24. The report implicated not only RCB and KSCA but also the event management company DNA Entertainment Networks Private Limited.
