BCCI Plans to Start IPL Seasons Earlier to Avoid Weather Disruptions
BCCI Considers Earlier Start for Future IPL Seasons
On Thursday, Devajit Saikia, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), announced that the board is contemplating an earlier start for the Indian Premier League (IPL). The proposed schedule suggests beginning the tournament as soon as March 10 and wrapping it up by May 15 in the upcoming seasons. This adjustment aims to reduce interruptions caused by unfavorable weather conditions.
Traditionally, the IPL takes place from late March until the end of May. However, May marks the onset of the monsoon season in various regions of India, prompting the BCCI to take proactive measures to mitigate its effects on the tournament.
