Baranica Elangovan Sets New National Pole Vault Record at Bhubaneswar Indoor Stadium
Baranica Elangovan's Record-Breaking Performance
The Bhubaneswar Indoor Stadium has become a significant venue for Tamil Nadu's pole vaulter, Baranica Elangovan. In just under five weeks, the 29-year-old athlete has successfully broken the national record on two occasions, both at this stadium.
On Sunday, Baranica achieved a height of 4.23 meters, surpassing her previous record of 4.22 meters, which she set during the inaugural National Indoor Athletics Championships held in late March in Bhubaneswar.
She accomplished the 4.23-meter clearance on her third attempt, expressing her satisfaction by stating, "It was another good day for me," as she established a new standard in women's pole vaulting.
