Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the captain of Bangladesh, expressed his contentment following a decisive victory in the first ODI of the three-match series against Pakistan. As the team prepares for the second ODI on Friday, Miraz emphasized the significance of establishing momentum early in the series, particularly in a year filled with numerous ODI matches where ICC rankings are vital. He stated, "Starting this series against Pakistan has been very positive for us. Winning the first match is a significant boost. With many ODIs scheduled this year, rankings are important, so a strong start is encouraging," as reported by the ICC.


Miraz Reflects on Bowling Improvements

The Bangladesh captain also shared insights into his recent bowling performance, acknowledging a challenging phase but highlighting his efforts to enhance his skills. "I dedicated a lot of time to refining my bowling after experiencing difficulties. I identified areas for improvement and concentrated on them. Additionally, I participated in two BCL matches to work on my game. Thankfully, my bowling was much more controlled yesterday," he remarked.


Bangladesh's Dominant Victory in the Opening Match

Under the leadership of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the Bangladesh team convincingly defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the first ODI held at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday. Chasing a target of 115 runs, the Bangla Tigers accomplished this in just 15.1 overs, with opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim scoring an impressive 67 runs off 42 balls, including seven fours and five sixes.

With this victory, Bangladesh has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series against Pakistan.
