Bangladesh's Cricket Team for Asian Games 2026

Litton Das has been appointed as the captain of the Bangladesh men's cricket team for the upcoming Asian Games 2026. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revealed a 15-member squad set to compete, starting on September 17, as reported by the ICC. This squad sees the return of several prominent players from the team that played against Zimbabwe in July, including captain Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto.

In the last edition of the Asian Games, Bangladesh achieved a podium finish, securing a bronze medal, finishing behind silver medalists Sri Lanka and gold medalists India. Along with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan, Bangladesh qualified directly for the 2026 tournament, with Japan, the host nation, also gaining an automatic entry. The remaining teams, including Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, and Oman, earned their spots through the qualifying tournament.


Bangladesh's latest T20I series was against Zimbabwe, where they clinched a 2-1 victory in the three-match series. Additionally, Bangladesh made headlines in Test cricket by defeating Australia by nine wickets in Darwin last month, marking a significant upset. This victory made Bangladesh the third Asian team, following India and Pakistan, to win a Test match in Australia.
