Australia Names Uncapped Players for India Test

Australia has included uncapped players Rachel Trenaman and Maitlan Brown in their squad for the upcoming one-off Test against India, set to commence on March 6 at the WACA Ground in Perth. The duo joins a 13-member team for the four-day match, potentially making their international debuts. Veteran all-rounder Ellyse Perry's participation remains uncertain due to a quad injury, although she may play as a specialist batter if she recovers in time. Meanwhile, fast bowler Kim Garth has been ruled out due to injury, and captain Sophie Molineux will also miss the match because of a back issue, leading to Alyssa Healy taking over as captain once again.

Healy's Final International Match

This Test will be significant as it marks Alyssa Healy's last international appearance before her retirement. Healy enters the match in excellent form, having scored 158 runs in the third ODI against India in Hobart on Sunday. This performance helped Australia secure an 8-4 lead in the multi-format series and clinch the ODI series.

Highlights from the 3rd ODI

In the third ODI, Australia Women showcased a powerful batting performance, defeating India by 185 runs. Batting first, Australia amassed a staggering 409 runs, with Healy leading the charge in her final ODI. She scored 158 runs off just 98 balls, hitting 27 fours and two sixes. Healy partnered with Georgia Voll for a 104-run stand (Voll scored 62) and formed a 145-run partnership with Beth Mooney, who also contributed an impressive unbeaten 106. Late innings contributions, including 34 not out from Nicola Carey, propelled Australia past the 400-run mark. For India, bowlers Sneh Rana and Shree Charani each took two wickets, but struggled to contain the Australian batting lineup.

In response, India faced early setbacks, losing Smriti Mandhana quickly. Jemimah Rodrigues managed to score 42 runs off 29 balls, while Deepti Sharma (29) and Sneh Rana (44) added 63 runs for the eighth wicket. However, India was ultimately bowled out well below the target.
