Assam Cyclists Shine at National Track Cycling Championships 2025
Outstanding Performance by Assam Cyclists
Guwahati, Dec 26: Cyclists from Assam showcased remarkable talent at the 77th Senior, 54th Junior, and 40th Sub-Junior National Track Cycling Championships 2025, which took place in Uttarakhand. The team secured a total of six medals, comprising one gold and five silver, across various junior and sub-junior categories.
Devi Chabukdhara stood out as the top performer, winning the gold medal in the 1 km individual time trial. Additionally, she earned a silver medal in the women's junior pursuit event over 3 km.
In the sub-junior girls' category, Bismita Sarmah claimed a silver medal in the 5 km scratch race. Meanwhile, Rupjyoti Kataki excelled in the men's junior category, achieving silver in both the 7.5 km scratch race and the 20 km points race.
Assam's women's junior team, featuring Devi Chabukdhara, Twinkle Gogoi, and Bismita Sarmah, also secured a silver medal in their event.
Expressing pride in the athletes' achievements, Tapan Das, the general secretary of the Assam Cycling Association, emphasized the organization's dedication to nurturing young cyclists and enhancing their skills in the future.
