Aslam Inamdar's Journey Back to the Pro Kabaddi League

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 23: With the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 12 player auction set for May 31-June 1 in Mumbai, Aslam Inamdar emerges as a beacon of resilience. The adaptable all-rounder, who has been retained by Puneri Paltan, is gearing up for his return following a tough Season 11, where he participated in only seven matches before a knee injury cut his season short.

“Injuries are a common hurdle for Kabaddi players; they are an integral part of the sport. A player’s true worth is revealed when they bounce back from an injury, showcasing their preparation and fitness,” Aslam stated, as reported by a local press release.

At 25, he faced a meniscus tear that necessitated surgery. “I committed to a swift recovery. It’s been six months, and I feel fully fit and ready for Season 12,” he expressed with confidence.

Puneri Paltan felt his absence significantly during Season 11. The team, which triumphed in Season 10 under his leadership, ended up in 8th place without him.

“I played seven matches, and we were leading the table until my injury. My absence seemed to lower the team’s morale, which I believe impacted our overall performance,” Aslam reflected.

Aslam's bond with the Puneri Paltan franchise is profound, having been part of it for five seasons since Season 7. He began his journey in their youth academy, ‘Yuva Paltan’, and later captained the team to success.

In his PKL career, he has amassed 545 points across 70 matches, including 38 points in the seven matches of Season 11 before his injury.

“My trust in Puneri Paltan is immense; it feels surreal. The owner engages with me about every situation. Post-injury, he treated me like family, affirming that I will always be his captain,” he shared.

As the auction approaches, Aslam anticipates a highly competitive environment. “The upcoming Season 12 auction will be intense, with many prominent names entering the fray. Players could fetch up to 2 crores, making it more competitive than ever,” he concluded.
