Asia Cup 2025: India-Pakistan Match Scheduled for September 14
Asia Cup 2025 Dates Confirmed
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced the dates for the Asia Cup 2025, confirming that the tournament will occur from September 9 to 28 in the UAE. This decision was made during the ACC's annual general meeting held in Dhaka, as geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan had previously cast uncertainty over the event.
ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi shared the news on social media, stating that while India is the official host, the matches will be played in the UAE due to an agreement between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This arrangement allows for a neutral venue if tournaments are held in either country.
Earlier this year, India played all its Champions Trophy matches, including the final, in Dubai, despite Pakistan being the designated host.
Anticipated India vs Pakistan Clash
The highly awaited match between India and Pakistan is set for September 14, with both teams expected to be in the same group. This encounter is anticipated to be the highlight of the tournament, marking their first face-off since the Champions Trophy earlier this year.
Reports suggest that if both teams advance past the group stage, they could meet again in the Super 4s, potentially leading to three matches between them during the Asia Cup.
A total of eight teams will compete in this year's Asia Cup, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. These teams will be divided into two groups, with the top two from each group progressing to the Super 4s.
