Arsenal Secures €40 Million Deal for Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge
Arsenal Finalizes Agreement for Christos Tzolis
Arsenal has successfully negotiated a €40 million (£34 million) agreement with Club Brugge for the acquisition of winger Christos Tzolis.
The North London club is currently in the final stages of securing the 24-year-old Greek international. Reports from June 12 indicated that Arsenal was considering a deal, with estimates suggesting a transfer fee around €40 million.
This move is part of Arsenal's efforts to enhance their attacking options this summer. The pursuit of Tzolis is distinct from their interest in Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa and other potential targets.
This week, Arsenal confirmed the transfer of Leandro Trossard to Besiktas for €20 million. They also inquired about Kenan Yildiz from Juventus but were informed he is not available, prompting them to explore alternative options.

Tzolis Returns to England After Norwich City Stint
Last summer, Crystal Palace attempted to sign Tzolis, but Club Brugge turned down their offer. Shortly after, Tzolis extended his contract until 2029.
Joining Arsenal would signify a return to England for Tzolis, who previously spent three seasons at Norwich City. During his time there, he made 30 appearances across all competitions, including 14 in the Premier League, and had loan spells at Twente and Dusseldorf before moving to Brugge in 2024.
In the last season, Tzolis netted 22 goals and provided 29 assists in 52 matches for Brugge, who clinched the Belgian Pro League title for the 20th time. He has represented Greece 34 times, scoring nine goals.
Tzolis Aligns with Arteta's Vision
Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's recent achievements have been built on pace, physicality, versatility, and defensive awareness—qualities that Tzolis possesses.
A key consideration is how effectively his skills will adapt to the Premier League, especially after a less impactful stint with a struggling Norwich side during his teenage years.
Tzolis has thrived in situations where he has space to operate, similar to Gabriel Martinelli, who scored 15 Premier League goals in the 2022-23 season but faced challenges when spaces became tighter.
Tzolis' overall attributes suggest he could fit well back into the Premier League, but, like Viktor Gyokeres, he may require time to adjust.
