Arjun Singh's Remarkable Achievement


In a historic moment for Indian pickleball, Arjun Singh showcased his exceptional talent by securing a double victory in the Under 18 category at the inaugural Junior Pickleball Championship, sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA). The event took place at the Dinkers Pickleball Academy in Ahmedabad on June 14. Partnering with his older brother Aditya Singh, Arjun triumphed over the duo of Dev Shah and Purvansh Patel in a thrilling final that concluded with scores of 15-9, 13-15, and 15-8.


The Singh brothers began their journey with a commanding 21-10 win against Kahaan Doriwala and Vivan Kokra. They continued their strong performance in the semifinals, defeating Atharva Seth and Panth Thakkar with the same score of 21-10. Meanwhile, Purvansh and Dev faced a challenging start but managed to edge past Jeet Sood and Vivan Patel 21-20, followed by a nail-biting 21-19 victory over Piyush Gaikwad and Mayank Dharampuria.


Ultimately, Arjun and Aditya's skills proved too much for their opponents in the final.


This championship is a landmark event for Indian pickleball, being the first of its kind for juniors in the country. The performances here are crucial, as they will play a role in selecting players for future international competitions, including the upcoming Pickleball World Cup in Da Nang, Vietnam.
