Anushka Chhabria's Remarkable Victory


On June 12, Anushka Chhabria secured her second title at the first-ever Junior Pickleball Championship held at the Dinkers Pickleball Academy in Ahmedabad. This event, sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) as a PWR 400 tournament, saw Anushka previously winning the U16 Mixed Doubles title with partner Panth Thakkar. She further enhanced her medal tally by teaming up with Mahika Rathod in the Girls Doubles category. The pair showcased an impressive performance in the finals, overcoming Swaina Kataria and Nayeem Hussain with scores of 15-9 and 15-7, thus clinching the championship. Anushka and Mahika dominated the match from the beginning, demonstrating poise during critical moments to achieve a straight-games victory.


Ruvanashri Sk and Aashrithaa S also made their mark by securing the bronze medal after a commendable performance throughout the tournament. This championship is a pivotal moment for Indian pickleball, being the nation's first junior national event. The outcomes here are particularly significant, as they will play a role in selecting players for forthcoming international competitions, including the Pickleball World Cup scheduled in Da Nang, Vietnam.
