Anshul Mishra Crowned India's Top Amateur Golfer for 2026
Anshul Mishra Achieves Top Amateur Golfer Status
Anshul Mishra, an athlete from the Roundglass Golf Academy, has officially been recognized as India's leading amateur golfer. The Indian Golf Union (IGU) has released the latest Gentlemen Merit List for the 2026 season, confirming Mishra's position at the top, which highlights his exceptional talent in the sport.
Path to the Pinnacle
Mishra's rise to the number one ranking is attributed to his impressive performance at the IGU Northern India Amateur Golf Championship held in March 2026. Competing at the challenging Panchkula Golf Club, he delivered a remarkable final round score of 69, culminating in a total score of 6-under 282, which secured him the championship title.
A Year of Accomplishments
This significant milestone is a continuation of Mishra's successful journey over the past year. In 2025, he made a name for himself on the national golf scene, finishing third in the IGU rankings. His prowess was further demonstrated when he topped the stroke play qualifying rounds at the IGU 124th Amateur Championship of India in December 2025.
Praise from Coaches
"Anshul is an exciting talent. I have known him since he was around 7 or 8 years old, and his enthusiasm for golf has only intensified over the years," remarked Col. Mohan Sharma, Lead of the Roundglass Hockey Academy.
