The Amritsar Soormas advanced to the T20 Cup final after a convincing seven-wicket win against the Mohali Kings in the first semifinal held at I.S. Bindra Stadium, highlighted by an impressive 91 runs from Naman Dhir.

Dhir's Explosive Performance

In pursuit of 170 runs to reach the final, the Soormas achieved their target with ease, scoring 172/3 in just 16.3 overs. Dhir showcased his batting prowess with a remarkable 91 runs off 37 balls, featuring 10 fours and six sixes, achieving a strike rate of 245.95.

After the early wickets of Sahaj Dhawan (3) and Jashanpreet Singh (1), Dhir stabilized the innings and then launched a fierce attack on the Kings' bowlers. He formed a crucial partnership of 106 runs for the third wicket with Abhay Choudhary, who contributed a solid 48 runs off 38 balls. Rahul Kumar then finished the innings with an unbeaten 26 runs off 16 balls, sealing the victory for Amritsar.

Kings' Batting Efforts

Earlier, the Mohali Kings managed to score 169 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Anmolpreet Singh was the top scorer with 43 runs off 26 balls, while captain Ramandeep Singh added 42 runs off 28 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Harpreet Brar contributed an unbeaten 33 runs off 27 balls, and Sohraab Dhaliwal provided a late boost with a quick 26 runs off 13 balls.

The Soormas' bowlers effectively contained the Kings, with Johal being the standout performer, taking three wickets for 45 runs, while Akash Pandey claimed two wickets.
