Former Indian cricket captain Ajinkya Rahane is poised to embark on his commentary journey during India's tour of Sri Lanka, scheduled from August 15 to 27, as announced in a recent statement. Rahane, who concluded an impressive 18-year playing career, will now share his insights from the commentary box.
He will contribute his extensive knowledge and experience to the two-match Test series, which will be available on the Sony Sports Network and streamed on Sony LIV. Having played 85 Tests for India, Rahane scored a total of 5,077 runs, including 12 centuries and 26 half-centuries. His profound grasp of red-ball cricket and match dynamics will enhance the broadcast, allowing fans to gain a deeper understanding of pivotal moments and strategies that define Test matches.

Rahane boasts an impressive Test captaincy record, remaining unbeaten with four victories and two draws, achieving the highest win percentage among Indian Test captains with a minimum of five matches. His leadership included a remarkable comeback win in Melbourne and a historic victory at the Gabba, which ended Australia's long-standing unbeaten streak during the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where India triumphed 2-1. He also led India to significant Test victories against Australia in Dharamshala in 2017 and against Afghanistan at home in 2018.
