AIFF Opens Bidding for Commercial Rights of Major Football Competitions
AIFF Launches Request for Proposal
On Friday, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) initiated the bidding process for the Request for Proposal (RFP) concerning the commercial rights associated with its competitions and properties. This includes rights for prominent events such as the Indian Super League (ISL), the Federation Cup (previously known as the Super Cup), the Indian Women's League (IWL), and IWL 2, as detailed on the AIFF's official website.
Bidders and Their Interests
Three organizations submitted bids for the commercial rights. FanCode and Genius Sports expressed interest in the rights for the Indian Super League and the Federation Cup. Capri Sports, on the other hand, targeted the commercial rights for both the Indian Women's League and IWL 2.
Terms of the Bids
The submitted bids are structured for a 15-year duration, with an option for a five-year extension, granting the bidder the right of first refusal. Additionally, the proposal stipulates a five percent annual increase in value throughout the agreement's term.
Evaluation Process
The evaluation report for the bids will be presented to the AIFF Executive Committee, which is scheduled to meet on Sunday, March 29, 2026. A decision regarding the bids is anticipated to be made on that same day.
