Abhishek Sharma and Marco Jansen Shine in ICC Rankings
Abhishek Sharma Tops ICC T20I Batter Rankings
India's Abhishek Sharma has regained the top position in the ICC Men's T20I batter rankings after scoring a remarkable century against New Zealand. His outstanding performance in the third T20I match in Wellington on Tuesday led to a six-wicket victory for India, securing the series.
Sharma reached his century in just 35 balls, finishing with an impressive 113 runs off 38 deliveries. This performance allowed him to surpass teammate Ishan Kishan, who had taken the lead in July after a series of strong showings in Ireland. Abhishek first achieved the No.1 ranking in July 2025, overtaking Australia's Travis Head.
Marco Jansen Ascends in ICC Test Rankings
In a parallel achievement, South Africa's Marco Jansen has ascended to the top of both the Test bowling and all-rounder rankings for the first time in his career. His rise follows a dominant performance against Australia in the second ICC World Test Championship match held in Gqeberha.
Jansen played a crucial role in South Africa's victory, scoring 85 runs and taking five wickets in Australia's first innings. This performance propelled him up the rankings, moving him to 56th among Test batters, overtaking Mitchell Starc to become the leading Test bowler, and displacing India's Ravindra Jadeja as the top all-rounder, a position Jadeja held for over four years. Jansen's rapid rise has drawn praise from former South African cricketer Dale Steyn, who called him 'the best cricketer in the world.'
