2026 PPA Tour Season Concludes with Dominant Performances
Final Day Highlights
The 2026 PPA Tour season wrapped up on Sunday, showcasing impressive title wins by Chris Haworth, Anna Leigh Waters, Anna Bright, Ben Johns, and Gabe Tardio across various singles and doubles competitions. The concluding day featured championship matches in men's singles, women's doubles, and men's doubles, with top players reaffirming their dominance before a brief hiatus ahead of the Major League Pickleball season.
In the men's singles final, Chris Haworth triumphed over John Lucian Goins with scores of 11-2, 11-8, securing the gold medal. This victory followed his recent slam title win in Atlanta, further solidifying his status as the leading men's singles player on the tour. Although Goins initially led 8-4 in the second game, Haworth rallied to win the last seven points, sealing the match in straight games. "After last week, I was a little beat down, so I wasn’t sure how this week would go," Haworth reflected post-match. "I’m super blessed to be here. This was an amazing event, and I’m glad to end the season on a high." The 33-year-old noted his rapid ascent in professional pickleball, having only started full-time competition on the PPA Tour last August. "It’s been a total whirlwind," he remarked. "The last eight months have been something I could only dream of."
The doubles finals also showcased the prowess of the top-seeded teams. In women's doubles, Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright defeated Parris Todd and Rachel Rohrabacher with scores of 11-7, 11-6, 11-2, demonstrating control throughout the match, particularly in the final game.
On the men's side, Ben Johns and Gabe Tardio concluded a stellar season by overcoming Andrei Daescu and Federico Staksrud with a decisive score of 11-8, 11-3, 11-0. This victory marked an undefeated campaign for Johns and Tardio in 2026, with their last loss dating back to November 2025. "It’s phenomenal. It’s been a long season. We’ve played a lot of tournaments," Johns stated after their win. "I don’t know what number this is, but it feels like we can take a deep breath knowing that we’re all done for now. And of course, finishing with a win is optimal, so thank you to Gabe. We played a great season together."
The results underscored the consistency of the sport's elite players as they prepare for the next phase of the professional calendar. The PPA Tour athletes will enjoy a short break before the focus shifts to Major League Pickleball, with the 2026 MLP season set to kick off in Dallas from May 22 to 25. With Haworth's continued success in singles and the unbeaten run of Johns and Tardio in doubles, the season concluded with several players firmly establishing themselves as frontrunners for the upcoming competitions.
