On Tuesday, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, the Union Minister for Communications and Development of the Northeast Region, chaired the annual business meeting for India Post for the year 2025-26 in New Delhi. This significant gathering saw participation from various circle heads across the country, focusing on the transformation of India Post into a premium logistics and citizen-centric service provider.

The meeting commenced with an address by Vandita Kaul, Secretary (Postal Services), who highlighted the key achievements of the past year and outlined strategic priorities aimed at institutionalizing innovation, inclusion, and a service-oriented approach.

During the event, Scindia launched a monthly e-newsletter titled 'Postal Dialogue.' This platform aims to showcase innovations, business initiatives, and success stories from the grassroots level within India Post, reflecting the remarkable commitment of postal employees and the trust of citizens. The newsletter's goal is to enhance engagement, inspiration, and knowledge-sharing across the entire India Post network.

Circle heads presented their respective areas' business progress, local initiatives, challenges, and development strategies. These presentations illustrated how India Post is aligning with national priorities in logistics, banking, e-commerce, and public service delivery.

Scindia engaged in detailed discussions with Chief Postmaster Generals (CPMG) from across the nation, listening to their experiences, achievements, challenges, and plans. He remarked, “India Post is not just a service; it is a lifeline connecting the remote corners of our country. I feel proud to witness the energy, commitment, and innovation of the representatives from across the nation.” He praised the corporate-style framework adopted by India Post, which prioritizes performance-based work culture, innovation, and accountability. The minister emphasized the need to promote a service-oriented business mindset to ensure India Post remains competitive in logistics and financial services while fulfilling its social responsibilities.

For the upcoming year 2025-26, Scindia set an ambitious target of a 20% to 30% increase based on the resources and capabilities of each circle. This goal is part of a broader vision to transform India Post into a sustainable and profitable entity that generates revenue for the government without compromising its social obligations. The meeting also delved into topics such as infrastructure development, process simplification, capacity building, and digital empowerment, which are crucial for positioning India Post as a leading logistics network ready for the future.
